Of all the NYC guitarists and composers that draw on extremely modern jazz with Middle Eastern tinged melodies, Eyal Maoz is the coolest. The New York City original instrumental guitar music maker broke into the music scene years ago with his influential album Edom with John Medeski on Tzadik Records. From ruthless improvisations and deep, hard-driving phrases to intimate, harmonically-rich lullabies like sound scapes. Maoz’s music is diverse, challenging and surprising, keeping the listener on his toes.

Maoz has made a name for himself with collaborations with other musical icons, such as Tim Berne, John Zorn, and Asaf Sirkis. His recent albums include Transliminal Rites (with Grammy Award winner Frank London) and Kost Nix, to name a few. In his long awaited upcoming tour, his celebrated productions and representation company Bellus Productions will be producing his guitar solo act at numerous distinct European and NYC venues. We consider the tour as one of this notable genre’s most intriguing events.
