ROME, ITALY.-Italian investigators are looking into several works acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in the last 25 years. Among these objects are three ancient objects (a vase, a jar, and a statue). This investigation is in connection with the trial to prosecute former J. Paul Getty Museum curator Marion True and dealer Robert E. Hecht Jr., accused of handling and receiving stolen objects and taking part in a smuggling ring. The trial will begin on November 16. Hecht also sold or gave around 100 objects to the MFA. Prosecutors have pictures that show the items dirty from being pulled out of the ground.
