DUSSELDORF.- The
illustrated book from teNeues Verlag, designed with great attention to detail, comprises 320 pages with 220 high-resolution color photographs and texts by Albrecht Behmel also on the genesis of several works.
It addresses questions such as: What drives Leon Löwentraut? Who influenced him? What is behind his art?
In addition to these subjects, the book is also devoted to contemporary art themes. How does it feel to be an artist in our digital age, and what place does classically created art have in a global world dominated by the Internet and social media?
After all, today a work of art is easier than ever to reproduce, and an artist can relate to his fans and buyers in a very different way than he did ten years ago. He is, in a sense, public.
The book impresses not only thematically and with its selection of photographs, but also with its velvet cover in fuchsia and the high-quality gold lettering. Whether as a trade edition, Special Edition with graphics (180 copies) or Collector's Edition with original charcoal drawing (25 copies) - fans and art enthusiasts can experience the expressive art of the 24-year-old artist within their own four walls.
Those who download the publisher's app and scan the twelve appropriately marked pages with their smartphone camera will have access to exclusive video footage: sequences in the studio, Leon Löwentraut talking about art and the art world, special exhibition moments, and film clips created during the production of the book.
"I am proud and happy to be able to present the first book about me and my art," Leon Löwentraut emphasizes and adds, "The publishing team and I have invested a lot of time, energy and heart and soul in this project. We are all more than satisfied with the result."
On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, teNeues Verlag will officially present the elaborately designed art book at the Frankfurt Book Fair from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the presence of artist Leon Löwentraut. Interviews after registration with Jörg Schwarz: Mobil: 0172 - 721 38 34 or E-Mail: schwarz20@t-online.de.
Leon Löwentraut, born in 1998 in Kaiserslautern, is already one of the most sought-after artists of his time. With expressive, color-intensive and unmistakable pictures and spectacular exhibition openings he surprised the international art scene. His works have already been on display at the Kunstforum in Vienna, the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, the historic Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice, the Bavarian National Museum in Munich, the Osthaus Museum in Hagen, the Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg, and galleries in New York, London, Copenhagen, and Singapore, among others.
He is the face of a young generation of artists who are giving the scene new momentum. The business magazine Forbes selected him as one of the "30 under 30" (the 30 most important personalities under 30).
Löwentraut emphasizes: "For me, art means freedom!" His goal: "To artistically overcome the limits of time."
Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences awarded the Düsseldorf painter a lectureship in the Virtual Design course for the winter semester 2021/2022. The topic was "Future Exhibition Design." The aim was to develop intelligent staging formats for the art sector in order to make analog art more tangible with digital possibilities and creative processes more comprehensible. The result was presented to the public at the "Volar" exhibition at the Baroque Museum in Salzburg.
Leon Löwentraut's next exhibition will take place at the Gerhardt Braun Gallery in Madrid from September 8, 2022. The joint project "Volar" will also be presented there.
