Guy Ben-Ner: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
Guy Ben-Ner. "Elia - a story of an ostrich chick", 2003. Video still, dvd edition of 6 running time 22.5 minutes.

CINCINNATI, OHIO.-The Contemporary Arts Center presents Guy Ben-Ner: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, on view through January 8, 2006. Israeli video artist Guy Ben-Ner has developed a studio practice that allows him to be artist and parent at the same time. Setting up his apartment as a movie studio, Ben-Ner performs with his children in his videos exploring the complex relationships that swirl around any domestic environment, while never losing the simple joy of a parent playing with his children. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids will feature four major video works and installations created since 2000 including Moby Dick, a silent slapstick video based on the Herman Melville novel, reenacted in Ben-Ner's kitchen with his then 6-year-old daughter. This exhibition marks the first solo museum exhibition in the United States for Ben-Ner whose works has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art and the Bronx Museum, New York; Hertzeliya Museum, Israel. Ben-Ner was included in the Greater New York 2005 exhibition at the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York and was recently selected to represent Israel in the 2005 Venice Biennale in June. This exhibition is organized by CAC associate curator Matt Distel.
