HONG KONG.- Aimee Man has joined
Denny Dimin Gallery as Associate Director as we grow our presence in Hong Kong.
Aimee is a curator, writer and art advisor who was previously at Whitestone Gallery, specializing in contemporary art and the works of the Gutai group. Aimee, a native Hong Konger, grew up in the Netherlands, where she started her career in the arts interning at the Teylers Museum in the Netherlands. Here, she was exposed to the fine collection of Dutch Masters such as Rembrandt and Goltzius. A graduate of the University of Amsterdam with a degree in Media and Cultural Studies, Aimee has also worked in Paris and brings four years of experience of the primary and secondary art markets to her new role, as well as experience of managing individual art projects and dealing with private clients worldwide.
"I am excited to introduce emerging and diasporic artists to the Hong Kong art scene from 2023. The conversations between galleries, institutions and art lovers thrive on new creative voices, and I look forward to this new chapter at Denny Dimin Gallery." - Aimee Man
Denny Dimin Gallery, Hong Kong, will continue to develop its hybrid program working with international and regional artists with the contributions of Aimee's vision and curatorial expertise. Aimee began her tenure with Denny Dimin Gallery working with Amir H. Fallah's solo exhibition, Joy As An Act of Resistance which was featured in Hong Kong Tatler and RTHK culture program, The Works. She has just opened The Wild and The Tame featuring six international artists opened June 11 in collaboration with the launch of Thick Cut, a zine formed out of contributions from writers and art professionals in Hong Kong and will be opening The Thread Is Not Straight, a group exhibition with international and local artists in September. The gallery will finish the 2022 program with a solo exhibition of new work by Amanda Valdez.
In her new role, Aimee will help to expand the gallerys presence in Hong Kong and support curatorial and fair programming across Asia alongside Katie Alice Fitz Gerald, the Gallerys Hong Kong partner.
"Aimee's passion for art along with her knowledge and expertise as a gallerist made her stand out immediately. She has developed many facets to her career one of which - her platform Curated Par - I was honoured to contribute to earlier this year. We're delighted to have her as an intrinsic member of Denny Dimin Gallery in Hong Kong." - Katie Alice Fitz Gerald, Partner
