MEXICO CITY.- An exhibition on the work of North American artist Miguel Ventura (San Antonio, Texas, 1954), entitled “El Dilema P.M.S” was just inaugurated at the Carrillo Gil Museum of Art. The show was curated by Sylvia Navarrete and Gonzalo Ortega. The work of Miguel Ventura concentrates on a very complex demystification process of social structures. In this process, the main protagonist is the figure of a child. In these drawings, photos and video installations, the children read, they play, they dance, they rest, they eat and they sleep like any other creature; however, they wear wigs and braids, their faces have make up and they speak an unknown language. This language has been "virtually institutionalized" since 1994. It is called the NILC (New International Language Commitee), a fictitious fascist organization that has its own alphabet.
