LOS ANGELES, CA.- Two sales from the
Bonhams Post-War and Contemporary Art department, Made in California and the Collection of Douglas S. Cramer, will be coming to the Los Angeles showroom this April.

The collection of renowned television producer Douglas S. Cramer (1931- 2021) who worked on Star Trek and The Brady Bunch series, will be presented in an online sale from April 20 27. During his lifetime, Cramer developed an extensive collection from leading contemporary artists and was a dedicated patron of the arts, including serving as a longtime board member of the Museum of Modern Art and co-founding the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. Cramer also took his passion for the arts one step further, incorporating elements from artists in this collection into the shows he produced. Roy Lichtensteins pop-art graphics were used in Batman and Andy Warhol, who painted and photographed Cramer, guest-starred in The Love Boat in 1985. Photographs of Cramer taken by Warhol (1928 1987) will be presented in the sale, as well as a print, Interior with Chair (estimate: $20,000 30,000), by Lichtenstein (1923-1997).
Also highlighted in the sale are notable Californian artists, such as:
Raymond Pettibon (b. 1957), No Title (Imperfect Works of Art), 2001, whose style is rooted in the California punk rock scene of the 80s, is estimated at $15,000 20,000.
Alexis Smith (b. 1949), The Ape Man, 1985, a printed collage of images, is estimated at $3,000 5,000.
Peter Shelton (b. 1951), a fiberglass sculpture, Blue Arm, 1984-86, estimated at $4,000 6,000.

On April 20 in Los Angeles, Bonhams signature Made in California sale will feature the works of contemporary artists who spent time living and working across the state of California. Untitled (Chevron Trapezoid), 2005 by Mary Corse (b. 1945) is an exemplary painting of the luminous white monochromes she is known for, estimated at $180,000 220,000. Working out of Topanga, California, Corse is one of the few women associated with the Light and Space movement. An additional work of Light and Space includes Untitled, 1970 by Fred Eversley (b.1941), estimated at $80,000 120,000. Other notable additions to the sale are Untitled from the Torn Cloud series by Joe Goode (b. 1937), estimated at $60,000 80,000 and Untitled (SF78-036), 1978, an abstract expressionist painting, by Sam Francis (1923 - 1994) estimated at $60,000 80,000.
