OTTAWA.- ONTARIO.- The Canadian War Museum opened in Ottawa. The Canadian War Museum - Canada's newest National Museum in the heart of the nation's capital. The Museum is located on LeBreton Flats and the south bank of the Ottawa River, west of Parliament Hill in downtown Ottawa.

Dedicated to the education, preservation and remembrance of Canada's rich military history, the Museum will increase its visitors' awareness and understandings of the role military events have played in Canada's history.
