NEW YORK, NY, June 7, 2002 - Rhizome.org, an online community focused on new media art, is pleased to announce that Magdalena Sawon has been elected to its Board of Directors. Ms. Sawon is owner and director of Postmasters Gallery, one of the few New York galleries committed to showing new media art.



"As Rhizome.org continues to grow, it is important that we further strengthen our Board of Directors," said Craig Kanarick, Chairman of the Rhizome.org Board. "Magda’s acute curatorial vision and practical knowledge of the gallery world will add an important new dimension to an already strong Board."



"Hopefully my experiences in a non-virtual art world will be useful for the Rhizome.org community of new media artists. I am looking forward to ’thinking outside the white box’ and its often frustrating limitations, and am grateful for the chance to do so constructively," Ms. Sawon said.
