Zane Lewis: Pink Lemonade, The Procession |

HOUSTON, TX.- DiverseWorks Art Space presents Zane Lewis: Pink Lemonade, The Procession, on view through May 28, 2005. Chance is an ever-present element in the work of Zane Lewis. By creating complex sculptural systems that rely on naturally occurring phenomena to function, Lewis' inventive installations offer a world where the synthetic and the natural collide. In Pink Lemonade, The Procession, the third in a sequence of installations mounted by the San Antonio-based artist over the past two years, Lewis constructs a multi-sensory, fantasy spacescape that is part science/part science fiction. The installation exposes the artist's wild imagination and knack for storytelling as he straddles the line between artist and mad scientist with dizzying results.
Zane Lewis was born in San Antonio in 1981 and received his BFA from The Atlanta College of Art in 2004. His work has been shown in group exhibitions at Gallery 100 (Atlanta), GA Museum of Contemporary Art (Atlanta), and Blue Star Contemporary Art Center (San Antonio) among others.
