Displaying saturated red hue and unrivalled translucency, it is certified to possess the “pigeon’s blood” colour by American Gemological Laboratories (AGL), GemResearch Swisslab (GRS) and Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF), making it a paragon of rubies. The surrounding 16 pear-shaped white diamonds, totalling 8.33 carats, bring out the fiery prominence of the treasure that set every heart aflutter.

Weighing 4.07 carats, this diamond is in a vivacious and sweet pink with a tint of purple hue, granting the scintillating gem an endearing twist. Its allure is further accentuated by the pear-shaped cut, rendering it an irresistible beauty for diamond lovers.

Star sapphires are known to entice with its mysterious character. The optical phenomenon of the stone is called asterism, caused by reflections from tiny, needle-like inclusions that are oriented in several specific directions. This stunning star sapphire is of a substantial size, complemented by a mesmerising blue and superb clarity. Featuring the razor-sharp beams, this sapphire flaunts its star-like quality that is a tour de force of Mother Nature.

Opulent Jadeite
Lot 144 Jadeite “Gourd” and Diamond Pendant; and Matching Earrings Diamonds together weighing approx. 7.10 carats Estimate: HK$ 5,000,000 - 7,500,000/US$ 640,000 - 962,000

This jadeite pendant and earrings set is prized for its fine texture and intense emerald green hue. Carved in the shape of a gourd, not only does the pendant embody the blessing of fortune, deriving from the Chinese pronunciation of “gourd”, it is made more auspicious by engraving the characters for longevity and jubilation. Spirited and steeped in blessings, this impressive jadeite set is the true manifestation of quintessential Chinese culture and preeminent craftsmanship.

Lot 41 Jadeite Bangle Estimate: HK$ 3,000,000 - 4,500,000/US$ 385,000 - 577,000
Jadeite bangles are remarkably precious as the production process involves immense wastage. This delicate jadeite bangle displays a luminous emerald green colour and boasts a lustrous sheen. Its flat interior and curved exterior, as opposed to the traditional rod-shaped bangle, are fine niceties that bring extra comfort to the wearer, marking the epitome of genteelness.

Branded Jewellery
Lot 127 Black Onyx and Diamond Ring, Tiffany & Co. Black onyx weighing approx. 8.00 carats Estimate: HK$ 45,000 - 65,000/US$ 5,800 - 8,300

Based on the timeless designs from the Tiffany Archives, Tiffany & Co. released “The Great Gatsby” series for the blockbuster of the same title in 2013, which were then elevated into classics as they were sported by the film’s cast. This ring is part of the unique series. Featuring a black onyx complemented by brilliant diamonds, the ring exudes a sense of elegance that transports any wearer back to the roaring 1920s ── the age of jazz, flapper dresses, and extravagant parties.

Designer Pieces
Lot 10 Jadeite, 8.58-Carat Natural Burmese Ruby, Gem-set and Diamond “Orchid” Brooch, Wang Chin-Lin; Diamonds together weighing approx. 9.85 carats Estimate: HK$ 68,000 - 98,000/US$ 8,700 - 12,600

This vernal piece, designed by Taiwanese jewellery designer Wang Chin-Lin, was inspired by the depleting numbers of wild orchids due to the damages caused to the environment. Rendered in a graceful form, the two orchids made of a myriad of gemstones and natural jadeite are no doubt a feast for the eyes. The bee on the branch is a detail not to be missed ── as it oscillates freely, it breathes life into the otherwise serene yet static scene set by the orchids, illustrating the designer’s optimism for the orchids to blossom again.

Lot 140 Diamond, Ruby and Tsavorite Garnet “Rat” Brooch, Nisan Ruby weighing approx. 1.30 carats; Tsavorite garnets and diamonds together weighing approx. 2.35 and 5.25 carats respectively Estimate: HK$ 42,000 - 62,000/US$ 5,400 - 8,000
With its distinctive style and impeccable craftsmanship, Thai jeweller Nisan’s creations are true works of art. A superlative example is this golden rat, where its plump body is bejewelled with glistering brown and white diamonds. With the enchanting ruby in its paws, the rat stands upon the leaves made of tsavorite garnets, the brooch vividly captures a sense of vigour as the rat discovers a treasure in the bushes.
