PITTSBURGH, PA.- Demetrios T. Patrinos has been named the new board chair at The Andy Warhol Museum. He will work with the board to raise funds to support the museum’s programming and to provide strategic guidance. Patrinos is a trustee of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and a member of its Executive Committee. He also currently serves on the boards of The Pittsburgh Opera and The Pittsburgh Glass Center. Previously, he served on the Individual Gifts Committee for Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh as well as the Building Committee for The Pittsburgh Opera.

“I am very honored and humbled to be selected to be associated with such a great organization and am looking forward to the challenges,” Patrinos stated.

Patrinos is the CEO of Patrinos Painting and Contracting Company and is an active real-estate developer in the Pittsburgh and Florida markets. He was the owner of Primanti Bros. restaurants for 38 years. During this time, Patrinos was awarded the James Beard American Classics award for exemplary regional restaurants.

“Jim Patrinos will be an ideal board chair for The Warhol. The Patrinos family has a long connection to The Andy Warhol Museum and Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh as philanthropists, volunteers and board members. Jim’s acumen as a business person will serve The Warhol well as we work toward achieving the goals in our strategic plan, and his many relationships in Pittsburgh will be invaluable as we reinforce the museum’s relevance to the community we serve,” stated Patrick Moore, director of The Warhol.

Patrinos’ appointment as board chair was effective on March 16. He replaced former board chair Michele Fabrizi, who will remain on The Warhol board as vice-chair.

Brian Ludwick and Henry Simonds were added as new members to The Warhol board at the organization’s March meeting. Ludwick received a B.S. in Finance from Regis University. He is currently the Market President in Pittsburgh for Bank of America, responsible for community interactions leading integration efforts and delivering the bank locally. Previously, he held various financial positions with Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, including market executive, financial advisor, and resident director. Simonds is an artist, collector, curator, and filmmaker. He is currently the president of Headwater Films/Media, which he founded in 2001 to develop and finance independent documentary and narrative films and other media ventures. He has worked as a writer, editor, and producer on over a dozen films. As an artist, he works in photography, sculpture, and mixed media.
