Hanji lies at the heart of Kims practice and has become inseparable from her artistic identity. NEW YORK, NY.- Martos Gallery will present a focused selection of works by Keith Haring at BRAFA Art Fair 2026, bringing together important examples from the early 1980s through the late 1980s. The presentation of more than twenty works spans the breadth of Harings practice and emphasizes movement, performance, and the activation of unconventional surfaces. The works presented at BRAFA highlight Harings radical approach to drawing and painting as acts of immediacy and public address. Executed across materials including paper, Plexiglas, vinyl, wood, metal, and found objects, these works demonstrate the artists belief that no surface was inert. Each became a site for transformation, where line functioned as both gesture and language. Central to this presentation are works from the early 1980s, a period during which Haring developed his instantly recognizable iconography through subway ... More
Historical photo of the Tramhuis 1931 on Beursplein (from the Rotterdam City Archives).
ROTTERDAM.- Walking inspires, connects, and energizes. It is not only one of the healthiest activities, physically and mentally, but also the best way to truly experience a city. On Saturday, February 14, the carefully restored Tramhuis will reopen its doors as a kiosk for city walks. Rich in history and character, this monumental tiny building will serve as the starting point for a wide range of walking routes through Rotterdam. In the heart of Rotterdam, the citys smallest historic icon shines once again. Built in 1914 in Art Nouveau style, the Tramhuis originally served as a modern public transport shelter for tram passengers. Over four decades ago, Gil Scott-Heron observed that politically, and philosophically, and psychologically there was only one prevailing season, the season of ice; words that, without doubt, mirror the current atmosphere. LONDON.- London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE will present Room with All Existing Words, a new site-specific commission by Mark Manders, opening January 22, 2026. Installed above the ancient Temple of Mithras, and alongside the Roman artefacts discovered on the Bloomberg site, the installation will transform the gallery into a space suspended between past and present, inviting visitors to consider how our understanding of history is constructed and imagined from the fragments that survive. For over thirty years, Manders has developed what he describes as a self-portrait as a building: an evolving body of work where sculptures, objects, and texts form a cohesive fictional world. His practice is marked by contrasts, where sculptures appear at once like unearthed relics and also like works abruptly abandoned in the studio. Bronze and clay forms seem frozen in mid-construction, while fragments of language, including his own invented newspapers, appear partly hidden or painted over, suggesti ... More
