MIAMI, FLA.- VISU Contemporary, Miami Beach’s leading contemporary art gallery, is presenting My Silence Is Made of Explosions, a group exhibition of contemporary women artists whose work extends Surrealism into the psychological, political, and aesthetic urgencies of the present. Featuring 28 works by Aïda Muluneh, Jen DeNike, Elena Dorfman, Patricia Voulgaris, Pixy Liao, Tania Franco Klein, Dora Maar, Zanele Muholi, and two collaborative works by Jen DeNike and Barbara von Portatius. The exhibition positions Surrealism not as a historical artifact, but as one of the most vital and enduring methodologies in contemporary art. My Silence Is Made of Explosions is on view March 19-May 31, 2026. “Surrealism was never about escape,” says curator David Raymond. “It was about confrontation—about accessing truths that rational systems cannot contain. A new chapter for Forum Gallery begins as it bids farewell to Park Avenue   Hamburger Kunsthalle acquires "Career-Defining" early sculpture by Berlinde De Bruyckere   Van Dyck: The European - Genoa unveils the century's largest tribute to the Flemish master

Forum Gallery will be moving to a temporary home on the 11th Floor of the iconic Fuller Building, 41 East 57th Street.

NEW YORK, NY.- After a decade at its Park Avenue address, Forum Gallery is preparing to turn the page. The gallery’s lease at 475 Park Avenue is coming to a close, marking the end of an era defined by a steady rhythm of exhibitions, collectors, and conversations that have shaped its presence in New York’s art scene. Before the doors close, however, the gallery is offering one final moment at this storied location. Rance Jones: Watercolors, on view through April 18, serves as both a farewell and a celebration—an exhibition that captures the intimacy and nuance of Jones’s work while inviting visitors to reflect on the gallery’s ten-year chapter in the space. Change, in the art world, often comes with continuity. Forum Gallery will soon relocate to a temporary home on the 11th floor of the iconic Fuller Building at 41 East 57th Street, where it will operate through September 11, 2026 in collaboration with DFN Projects. The move places the gallery among long-standing colleagues, ... More

HAMBURG.- The Hamburger Kunsthalle announced its latest acquisition: the sculpture Zonder Titel [Untitled], 1993 (1993) by the internationally renowned Belgian artist Berlinde De Bruyckere, acquired with funds from the HERMANN REEMTSMA FOUNDATION. Berlinde De Bruyckere (born 1964, lives and works in Ghent, Belgium) is one of the most renowned contemporary sculptors. Her artistic work focuses on the ma- jor themes of human existence: closeness and distance, love and suffering, vul- nerability and resilience. Accordingly, the artist employs materials in her sculp- tures that can be interpreted in an ambivalent way. In the case of Zonder Titel, 1993, it is a used blanket: it symbolises protection, security and warmth, as well as hardship, illness and concealment. Fascinating and eerie at the same time, the larger-than-life figurative sculpture stalks on stilts ... More

MAASMECHELEN.- Maasmechelen will soon welcome a remarkable artwork: 'Reflection' by Dutch artist Germaine Kruip. This monumental sound sculpture pays a poetic tribute to the historic ferries across the Meuse and will be unveiled on Sunday 22 March. With the announcement of Jennifer Tee as the final artist, the line-up for Art on the Meuse is now complete. The Meuse has always been a river of connection. Until the 1950s, a small ferry connected Meeswijk to Urmond, creating a vital link between the two shores. The residents of the Meuse Valley share a common history, traditions, and dialect. It is precisely at the site of the former ferry that Kruip’s sculpture serves as a tribute to this shared history. From the very start of the project, a local working group from Maasmechelen was closely involved. They aimed to create a work of art that would enhance the landscape without dominating it. Together with Z33 and the Regional Landscape Kempen & Maasland, they explored the character of the location, ... More

Janet Langsam (American, b. 1935). Horizons One, 1969–1972. Acrylic on raw canvas. Courtesy of the artist.

YONKERS, NY.- The Hudson River Museum presents Horizons: Paintings by Janet Langsam, which will be on view from February 27–June 21, 2026 in the Community & Partnership Gallery. This exhibition highlights a series of works by artist and arts advocate Janet Langsam that meditates on the shifting appearance of the horizon line across the four seasons. Langsam’s lifelong fascination with the horizon has roots in her childhood in Bayswater, Queens, on the Rockaway Peninsula. She grew up experiencing ocean views and the beach, where water meets sky in clean linearity. In each of these abstract canvases, Langsam emphasizes the horizon by expanding the line into a band, creating a three-part composition that becomes a recurring visual motif and a point of connection. Reveling in color on this monumental scale led her to think of seasonal changes ... More

Jay Miriam's inaugural Australian solo exhibition opens in Sydney
SYDNEY.- Three women come together across oceans and time zones: artist Jay Miriam from New York, 8 Wall director Sam Houben from Sydney, and Emerald Gruin of Gruin Gallery in Los Angeles. All are mothers. All carry parallel lives shaped by care, creativity, and quiet resilience. Their meeting at Sydney’s newest female-led gallery as Jay’s inaugural Australian solo show feels less like a coincidence than a constellation—an intuitive alignment of energies, histories, and futures. Jay Miriam’s paintings emerge from a place of daydreaming where fantasy and reality fold into one another. Scenes drift between domestic ritual and theatrical reverie: women in gardens, hands cutting fish, wine, swans waddling in courtyards, water pouring from jugs, figures moving like commedia dell’arte actors in The People Pleasers. These are not narratives in the traditional sense, ... More

Anita Rogers Gallery presents "The Drawing Show" for 10th anniversary
NEW YORK, NY.- Anita Rogers Gallery is presenting The Drawing Show, on view March 11- April 18, 2026 at 494 Greenwich Street in New York. Tomas Watson joins curated this special exhibition that features works by Bo Bartlett, Noah Buchanan, Michael Grimaldi, Amaya Gurpide, Phil Hale, Jordan Sokol & Tomas Watson. In the mid 90s, the French novelist/historian Olivier Delorme remarked to me, "Drawing is to painting what grammar is to writing." At the time, I agreed with him, but over the years, I have found drawing to be so much more than thpat, to the extent that it defies a straightforward description. Many people (myself included) will often gauge an artist’s merits based on the qualities found in their drawings. But what exactly are these qualities and how can we define what drawing is? A traditional definition of drawing might be that it had a function, that it was the ... More

Alessandra García brings a "living equation" to life at Museo Picasso Málaga
MALAGA.- On an April evening in Málaga, the quiet geometry of Elena Asins’s Antígona will be set into motion. Not physically, but through voice, body, and presence. On Thursday, April 9 at 8:00 p.m., performer and creator Alessandra García will step into the galleries of the Museo Picasso Málaga to stage a work she describes as a “living equation”—a performance conceived as a dialogue across time with one of Spain’s most influential conceptual artists. The piece, titled (441 – 75): a conversation, unfolds inside the museum’s current exhibition Elena Asins. Antígona, where the sculptural installation from 2015 anchors the space with its austere, almost meditative presence. For García, the encounter is both personal and symbolic: a way of responding to the intensity of Asins’s work while attempting to “speak” with an artist who is no longer here. These include moments of daily life in Brazil and in Italy, memories shared with loved ones, Brazilian and Italian landscapes, and encounters with Italian art history — specifically, the influence of Caravaggio. In this sense, time takes material form, revealing ways of contemplating its passing in both objects and landscapes. “The time that lives in me” encompasses these relationships between life, memory, ...
