They are the perfect model for photographers who want to showcase their portfolio on a photo sharing site. If you are a beginner, you can start by learning how to photograph flowers indoor. The following are 10 tips on how to photograph flowers indoor.

1. Prepare the Cut Flowers
First, you need to get cut flowers for photography. It is hard to find full bloom flowers that are without flaw in the outdoor. If you want the best result, you should order the flowers from a florist. You can easily buy the combination of flower bouquet you need from an online international flowers store.

2. Putting the Flowers in a Vase
When you have prepared the flowers, get a clean vase and fill it with water. In the water, you can add the plant food included with the flower bouquet you order. If you don't have plant food, you can mixed lemonade into the water instead. Before putting in a vase, remove all yellow/brown foliage and make a diagonal cut at the bottom of the stem.

3. Rearrange the Flowers
Next, you need to rearrange the flowers so that they are ready for shooting. There is no need to be an expert to arrange the flowers. You just have to arrange the flowers in a way that they can be shot clearly. You can experiment with flowers of different types and heights into the vase. You can also get someone who is experienced in a flower arrangement to help you arrange the flowers.

4. Set up a Studio in Your Home
You should have a studio in your home where you can set up the equipment for flower photography. You can set up a temporary studio in your living room or bedroom. There is no need to set up a large working area since you are photography the flower at home.

5. Prepare the Camera Equipment

You also have to prepare all the camera equipment that is needed to take a photo of the flower displays. If you are photographing a single flower, you can use a 105 mm macro lens. The 60 mm macro lens can be used if you want to take a photo of a bunch of flowers in the vase. You will need to invest in a tripod to hold your camera. A tripod is useful when you are photographing flowers in a fixed position. You only need to change your exposure when you move something.

You can get a lighting stand if you are using photography lighting. There are various types of lighting you can use in your photography such as studio light, flashlight, and light cube. The light cube can be all white or they can have colours. The coloured light cube can create a coloured background for photography. You can also redirect light to shadow area by using a reflector.

6. Get a Large Table
You must find a large table where you can put the vase of flower you are photographing. When shooting at a table, you are able to shoot at the desired distance at a convenient angle without having to squat down on the floor. The vase can be made from different materials like metal, pottery, and glass. The problem with glass vase is that they have a reflective surface, for example, it will show a reflection of you trying to take the photo. To solve this problem, you can use a wireless remote to set the shutter to take the photo.

7. Area Must Have Sufficient Light
The place where the table is put must be well lit. If there is no indoor light, you can find a window that has sunlight shining in. If you want to soften the night, you can hang a net curtain over it. When you are photographing flower near the window, you are more likely to capture your shadows.

8. Setting up the Background
You will need to set up the background for the flower photography. The light cube can provide at least 3 coloured backgrounds. If you don't have a light cube, you can use a coloured mount board. They can be purchased at the artist supply shop. It is important to make sure that the coloured background you use does not have any creases on it otherwise it can create a distraction on the centrepiece.

9. Test Your Camera with a Few Shots
Before starting the photograph, you should take a few test shots so that you can adjust your camera to the right settings. This process also allows you to learn about your camera. It allows you to know how the different settings can affect the quality of the photography.

10. Wet the Flower with Some Water
If the flower appears dry, you can splash some water on the flower head and leaves. This can be done by wetting your hand palm and splashing the water or you can fill a mist spray with water and spray the plant. Doing so will add some texture and make your photography more interesting. Water also helps to add a sheen to the flower.
