NEW YORK.- Bonhams, international fine arts auctioneers, is pleased to announce an exhibition of Fine Asian Works of Art - to be held March 17-23, 2007 in the historic Fuller Building on Madison Avenue - featuring major international highlights from its upcoming spring 2007 sales. Timed to coincide with Asia Week events in New York City, the Bonhams New York exhibition will feature works to be offered in London, San Francisco and in Hong Kong, where the newest Bonhams offices have recently opened.

Colin Sheaf, Chairman of Bonhams Asia, said, "Opening an office in Hong Kong marks the crossing of another art market frontier in Bonhams' global development. Part of a strategic decision to increase our international company's presence in Asia, we see the auction business in Hong Kong as a springboard to a developing client base and activities as far afield as China, Japan, India, South Korea, Indonesia and Singapore."

This Spring Bonhams will host three auctions comprising Contemporary Asian Art, Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, as well as a sale of The Green Willow Hall Collection of Jade Carvings (set for Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Asia International Arts and Antiques Fair 2007 to be held at Hong Kong's dramatic and newest exhibition centre, the Asia World Expo). The San Francisco sale is scheduled for 30 April at Bonhams & Butterfields and Bonhams London brings Asian art to New Bond Street on 14 May.

Featured highlights on view in New York City include: four hanging scrolls mounted in two panels titled Lotus and dragonflies from Qi Baishi (1864-1957) (est. $200,000/300,000); an important early blue and white globular jar, guan from the Yuan Dynasty ($1,275,000/2,000,000); a fine and rare cloisonné enamel globular jar, lei, Qianlong ($40,000/60,000) and a selection of 18th century jade carvings, estimates ranging from $5,000 to $55,000 and many other lots...
