LONDON, ENGLAND.- Tate Britain presents Art Now: Kate Davis, on view through March 25, 2007. Kate Davis's installations imbue the familiar and mundane with a sense of estrangement: a music stand displays artwork, headphones are constructed from ceramic, images of neck ties and trousers are transformed into proposals for escape and a bicycle becomes frozen in space and time. Davis carefully orchestrates our physical encounter with the work, regularly switching between two and three dimensions and giving precise consideration to the placement of objects within the gallery. Davis is creating a new installation for the Art Now space.
