Massive Teotihuacan Aztec Stone Zoomorph Water Spout
. Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan to early Aztec culture, ca. 600 to 1400 CE. This is a superb volcanic rock carving of a recumbent dog-like or jaguar creature, with a shallow groove or water channel down its spine and an opening spout in the mouth. Estimate $10,000 - $15,000.
Panamanian Chiriqui Gold Pendant Abstract Zoomorph
. Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica or Panama, Chiriqui (Veraguas) culture, ca. 900 to 1500 CE. A gorgeous figural pendant of highly abstract form that is cast from 69.58% to 71.58% gold (equivalent to 15K+). The intriguing figure presents nude while standing atop delineated legs, its knees slightly bent, with sinuous arms curving off the sides of the slightly protruding chest, each hand holding the end of a twisted rope next to an X-shaped cap with spiraling terminals. 17th C. Chinese Qing Brass Censer Dragon Handles
. East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. late 17th to early 18th century CE. A wonderful brass censer exhibiting a compressed body and a flared rim, all sitting upon three bulbous legs with petite feet. A pair of elegant loop handles flank the vessel, each presenting in the form of a dragon with the front and hind legs perched on the rim of the dish and the slender body arching upwards. . Very rare, an Azande hand-carved wooden face mask with incredible encrusted, thick, deep patina. The finely carved face mask presents an expressive visage with openwork eyes and mouth, a broad forehead, a long, straight nose, and a narrow chin. Estimate $2,400 - $3,600
Central Asia, Tibet, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE
. A lovely wood and high quality 97.86% silver miniature table supported by four feet. The silver sheet panels covering the legs and rim are etched and chased with scrolling vine and cloud motifs, and pairs of animals, while the interior lip contains sinuous dragons. Estimate $2,400 - $3,600
