How to clean record needle

Maintaining a turntable is challenging, but we overcome any challenges when we have passion. If you are passionate about vinyl disks, you must also have a turntable. It would help if you experienced the hisses and pops. A common reason for these noises is the needle. If you are wondering how to clean the record needle, you will not have to wait for long.

In this article, we will tell you how to clean record needles easily and quickly. The needle is also called a stylus. The stylus of your turntable is very sensitive and frequently requires cleaning. There are many ways to clean a stylus that we will discuss in this article.

How to clean record needle?
Cleaning a stylus is not very complicated, but it often requires are a cleaning. Or else your disks may have damages that are either permanent or temporary.

When the vinyl disks turn, the needle sets on the grooves, dirt, dust, and many other particles that gather up on your needle. That is why it may also cause damage to your disks, and obviously, it will deteriorate the sound quality. So let's see the first method of cleaning a stylus.

Stylus Brush
Stylus brush is the most common and traditional method of cleaning record needles. You can get a stylus brush or record needle cleaning brushes in the stores and online as well.

Using the brush is easy. Take the need and keep the brush under the needle. Now clean the needle by move the brush from its place to back. Don't brush it sidewise.
It would help if you remembered you do not brush it sideways because it will not clean the needle effectively. You have to brush the needle in the same direction as the record would be. And the best part is you can do the cleaning in between records.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
You can purchase this in most tool shops and regularly, even general stores. Remove a little square and delicately bring down the tonearm/pointer onto the eraser until the pointer quits abandoning the place.

The authority word from makers is outstandingly missing regarding this matter, so continue with the alert. If you give it a shot, use it dry, and on the off chance that it accompanies a blue side, dodge it as this is treated with cleaning agents.

Start by removing a 2" square. Then, place that square on either the plinth or the platter – anyplace that the tonearm can go without much of a stretch reach. At that point, delicately bring down the pointer onto the eraser and rehash until the pointer quits abandoning buildup.

Onzow Zerodust Stylus Cleaner
The Zerodust is the lone pointer cleaner we use here at the U-Turn manufacturing plant. Onzow claims that this "puzzling material" is "gentler than a child's skin and... won't ever harm a sensitive pointer." We don't think about that. In any case, we do realize that it's unbelievably powerful and straightforward to utilize.

Just lower your pointer onto the gel cushion, then lift and rehash until your pointer tip is liberated from residue and garbage. On the off chance that your Zerodust begins to look somewhat grimy, you can run some warm water over it - it will essentially keep going forever. Besides, it accompanies an amplifying glass for examining your pointer.

What is the best method among the three explained methods above?
Many people use the brush as the easiest and most effective way to clean the record needle. Brushes are very available in the market and also on the internet. You may also get a brush with premium quality needles for free. Oherwise these brushes are cheap and super easy to use which is why it is the most common method of cleaning record needle.

If you want you can also use two methods, you can use the brush then you can use the Mr. Clean eraser or the onzow zerodust to clean the needle. Another way is cleaning the record properly to keep the needle clean for long. There are many kind of Record Cleaning Machine that you can use to clean clean the records.

Final Word
We all love to take care of things that we are passionate about. And many people are passionate for listening to music at its best possible form. Whoever collects LPs and vinyle disks must love their turntables equally. Keeping those who love to keep their set up at the best condition in mind, we came up with this article.
