Fashion Guide to the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival

Dress codes are very important when attending a racing event in Melbourne. You must always know what to wear to these types of occasions. Dress codes play a crucial part in achieving uniformity at an event. It also ensures the attendees have a sense of unity amongst themselves.

At the Melbourne Autumn racing festival, the dress code is rather relaxed. The carnival that spans over eight weeks and is widely attended by people from all over the world. However, if you are worried and confused on what to wear to the event, here are some tips you might find useful.

A fashion guide to the Melbourne Autumn racing carnival.

Get yourself a nice dress

During the CF Orr Stakes race in the carnival, women often find themselves at a crossroad. They do not know what to pick between a nice pair of trousers and a dress. Well, here is something to help you choose. Wearing a dress brings out a relaxed and calm feel especially for a woman. The dress should however be of a casual design and of a light material.

The dress should also have a light color to bring out a calm feel. You should complete the look with a nice pair of open shoes and accessories like jewelry and clutches.

Restock your shoes

You probably should not wear the same shoes you are occasioned to the race in the carnival. Recently, during the London fashion week during fall, sock ankle boots were across all runways. The boots are very comfortable and are suitable for such an event.

The cap heels were also popular on runways in London. They are the perfect match for that outfit you are probably going to wear on race day. There are many other new fashion trends on the street today.

Restrain from wearing any headwear

Autumn is not exactly the season to wear that cap. You should let your spirit out and enjoy the carnival. However, not all headwear is inappropriate. If you still feel the need to spice up your outfit, try a straw boat hat that goes very well with almost any look.

Additionally, a veil for the women would be fine and lastly, a headband for the youngsters would be just fine during the event. Remember not to overdress because it might be counter-productive.

Carry something warm

Autumn is a very unpredictable season. It can bring cold weather and the outfits you pick might need to protect you from the adversities. Melbourne is also unpredictable and it is anyone’s guess what the weather will look like on race day.

You might want to pack up a leather or silk jacket. The two materials easily blend in with whatever outfit you may have.

Wrapping up

Pick only the clothes that bring out your personality and individualism. The best advice any fashion expert can give you is be yourself. Do not be swayed by the crowds and end up wearing something you are not comfortable in. Lastly, avoid garments that enshroud your entire body. That is because, currently, these types of clothes are not in style and you might end up looking odd. Besides, what is wrong with showing some skin?
