Art Miami Buys the LA Art Show
Kim Martindale, Producer of the Los Angeles Art Show & owner.
LOS ANGELES, CA.- The Fine Art Dealers Association and the Los Angeles Art Show, LLC are pleased to announce that an agreement in principle has been reached with the Fine Art Dealers Association to acquire all of the assets of the Los Angeles Art Show, including the new LA Art Show: Modern & Contemporary, the Los Angeles Fine Art Show: Historic and Traditional, and the show production for the International Fine Print Dealers Association show in Los Angeles. Subject to the approval of FADA’s membership, the acquisition is expected to close by the end of September.

The Los Angeles Art Show, an LLC partnership, was created to produce and operate all of the Los Angeles Art Show’s assets by Art Miami, LLC and Kim Martindale, General Manager. The Los Angeles Art Show, LLC represents a focused investment for the Art Miami team, merging the tools and assets of these bi-‐coastal shows to the benefit of both.

“We are excited to acquire the Los Angeles Art Show and work with Kim Martindale, the LA show’s long-‐time show manager. LAAS has an established following among Southern California collectors. We are committed to expanding that audience through a focus on quality programming. We will invest in taking the two-‐show concept to a higher level by combining the experience and resources of the Art Miami team with the quality and success of the Los Angeles Art Show," states Mike Tansey, the majority investor in Art Miami.

The Los Angeles Art Show will have a new vision for its January 2012 art event. The West Coast’s largest art fair will debut two separate shows, The Los Angeles Fine Art Show: Historic and Traditional (HAT) and the LA Art Show: Modern & Contemporary (MAC). Both shows will take place January 18 – 22, 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in West Halls A and B.

“Partnering with Art Miami will bring a new level of commitment and future growth to the fair while adding value for Galleries. The two-‐show format is very exciting. We have set the highest standards for these shows and created an atmosphere catering to both the discerning collector and respected galleries,” states Betina Tasende, FADA President.

The annual Los Angeles Art Show, created by FADA more than 17 years ago, is one the longest running venues for contemporary, modern, and traditional art in the West. The 2011 Show hosted more than 110 prominent galleries and drew more than 50,000 visitors. Betina Tasende, President of the Board of FADA reflects on the legacy of the Los Angeles Art Show, "As an association, FADA is proud to have built an entity that attracted the interest of Art Miami, a respected fair organizer. We feel confident they will nourish our cherished endeavor as Los Angeles becomes an epicenter for art fairs."

The New LA Art Show: Modern & Contemporary (MAC)
The LA Art Show: Modern & Contemporary is committed to showing the highest quality works including Ed Ruscha, John Baldessari, Henry Moore, Sebastião Salgado, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Arshile Gorky, Jim Dine, Andy Warhol, Fernando Botero, and others. Once an encyclopedic show, the new LA Art Show will be honed and edited to showcase top caliber galleries featuring modern and contemporary works by established and emerging artists.

The new LA Art Show: Modern & Contemporary meets the needs of the global gallery community and provides heightened opportunities for serious collectors, as well as the local arts community. Designed to showcase forward-‐thinking artists, this exciting new show will feature performance pieces, mixed media and video installations, photography, contemporary paintings and sculptures, and a series of curated special exhibitions.

The Los Angeles Fine Art Show: Historic and Traditional (HAT)
The Los Angeles Fine Art Show provides a new perspective on traditional and historic works and fills a gap in the existing art market, providing strong opportunities for collectors and galleries. Designed to maximize the collector experience, this Historic and Traditional Show is sharply focused on complementary genres that will include pre-‐20th century works, impressionism, plein air paintings and drawings, contemporary realism, as well as other regional styles.

Both The Los Angeles Fine Art Show: Historic and Traditional and the LA Art Show: Modern & Contemporary will take place on January 18-‐22, 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, West Halls A and B, 1201 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015.
