MAASTRICHT.- From March 10 to 19, 2006, Maastricht (the oldest city in the Netherlands) will be the setting for the eighteenth staging of The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF). TEFAF Maastricht has become one of the world’s most prestigious Art and Antiques Fair and a trendsetter in the field. Last year, the fair attracted more than 77,000 collectors and art lovers from all over the world.

The museum quality items that the 218 distinguished international dealers and exhibitors from 14 countries bring to Maastricht for sale, create a feast for the eye, unequalled in scope, diversity and absolute top quality. The vetting committees, with a total of more than 130 international experts in every field of art that is represented at TEFAF, verify every object for its quality, authenticity and condition. Consequently, visitors to TEFAF Maastricht can buy with confidence.

Many directors and curators of major museums, private collectors, as well as interior designers from all over the world make a visit to TEFAF a must in order to compete for some of the finest work still in private hands.

Diversity - The quality and diversity of pieces at TEFAF is beyond compare. In the beginning, the fair’s claim was the Flemish and Dutch Old Masters Section. Nowadays, Italian, Spanish, French, German and English paintings are well represented as well. In addition, TEFAF has quite a considerable selection of Modern Art. On display in one amazing venue are: Medieval manuscripts, maps, coins, French, English and Italian furniture, classical antiquities and Egyptian works of art, Asian, African and South American objects, porcelain, silver, jewelry and 20th century furniture and objects.

Venue - The venue in the Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Center (Maastricht) is elegant with exquisite flower arrangements, beautifully designed stands, and champagne and sushi bars. The 200 booths cover over 129,000 square feet whereas the total fair floor space is over 290,000 square feet.
