Saatchi Gallery showcases works by nine exciting and emerging contemporary artists
Mildred Palmer, Orange Blue Dot 2. Relief monoprint on paper, 28 x 37.5 cm.

LONDON.- On 25 July the Saatchi Gallery will open Ecstatic Rays in the Prints & Originals Gallery. The exhibition showcases works by nine exciting and emerging contemporary artists.

Mildred Palmer creates unique relief prints that have a textural intensity and sublime resonance. The result of a multi-layered printing technique that involves stencils and serendipity the artist produces works of intoxicating colour & depth.

Andrew Millar produces works on polaroid prints that mix fantasy and reality. In a multi-step process the collages are created, photographed, printed utilising bespoke techniques and finally hand-finished with gold-leaf, paint or mark-making. The paintings of Tom Shedden convey an intensity that suggests the artist has worked and re-worked the pieces repeatedly. The results are works of simplicity that have a powerful impact.

Pakal produces glorious technicolour confections that combine East Asian & South American influences with elements of Western kitsch. The results are beguiling. Zabou is an emerging street artist with a growing reputation for strong studio work too. For this exhibition, Zabou has produced a work of homage to Frida Kahlo. Harry Jones often combines photography and sculpture to create installation works. For Ecstatic Rays, the artist presents superb photographs of distressed walls that are beautifully abstract and yet also suggestive of forms, figures or satellite imagery. The works of Olly Fathers are inspired by geometric cityscapes and how we transverse & interact with them. Olly’s paintings are finely balanced compositions that draw the viewer into the landscape depicted.

The artistic duo Elektro Team collaborate remotely from each other, exploring ideas across a continent. Delicate charcoal drawings created by one artist have been collaged or overpainted by the other. SKU produces works reflecting upon contemporary society and the history of the 21st Century to date – a challenging task.

Mildred Palmer graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 1994. The artist lives and works in London.

Andrew Millar lives in Whitechapel, East London. Andrew has had solo exhibitions in Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and New York.

Tom Shedden lives and works in Hythe, Kent. The artist studied at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art, London. He has exhibited in London and elsewhere in the UK.

Pakal is the alter ego of an established street artist.

Zabou was born in France but currently lives and works in London. The artist exhibits and paints world-wide spreading her message of love, fun and rebellion.

Harry Jones graduated from the University of the Arts, London in 2011. The artist lives and works in London.

Olly Fathers graduated from Wimbledon College of Art in 2010. The artist has exhibited in London, Europe and the USA. Olly lives and works in London.

Elektro Team currently consists of two artists. One is presently based in the UK and the other is located on mainland Europe.
