Heather James Fine Art announces Lawrence Schiller's Marilyn Monroe photographs auction
These brilliant limited edition photographs by Lawrence Schiller capture the eternal spirit of a true icon.

PALM DESERT, CA.- Heather James Fine Art offers special Lawrence Schiller Marilyn Monroe photography auction benefitting FIND Food Bank.

Lawrence Schiller, renowned photographer, director and author, famously photographed Marilyn Monroe multiple times near the end of her life. Hollywood starlet. Sex symbol. American icon. Marilyn Monroe’s status as an enduring figure of glamour made her one of the most famous women in American history. Of all the images shot of the incomparable movie star, the most iconic were those taken by Schiller.

Printed from film that was lost for decades, Schiller made only 75 editions of these breathtaking photographs, and none will ever be created again. From the 1960 candid image shot during the filming of Let’s Make Love, to the legendary poolside photoshoot on the set of Something’s Got To Give in 1962, each image pays homage to the vibrant, unforgettable woman that was Marilyn Monroe through the lens of a virtuoso. Each photo measures 20 x 24 inches, of which 10 images are silver gelatin prints and two are color photographs. Each image is numbered and signed by Schiller.

Bidders can take home one of these magnificent photographs to benefit FIND Food Bank. Food In Need of Distribution, Inc. (FIND) distributes 10+ million pounds of food assistance annually to an average 90,000 individuals each month across eastern Riverside and southern San Bernardino Counties in southern California. They do so through a network of 100+ community-based partners whose programs include food pantries, soup kitchens, after-school and summer care, senior centers, faith-based organizations, and homeless shelters. FIND Food Bank is a Member of Feeding America and the California Association of Food Banks.

The auction runs now through November 9th and will culminate with a live auction event Wednesday at our Palm Desert gallery from 5-7 pm.
