Latitude: Platform for Brazilian Art Galleries Abroad and SP-Arte will host the first Art Weekend São Paulo
from 24 September 2016. Art Weekend will take place the weekend before the opening of the 32nd Bienal de São Paulo, and will bring together 36 art galleries for openings, talks and free events, taking advantage of São Paulo's rich cultural scene.
The weekend will include exhibitions, talks with artists and curators, roundtable discussions, as well as gallery walks throughout the city. The walks will be split into four circuits and located in Centro/Barra Funda, Itaim, Jardins, Pinheiros/Vila Madalena. Each of the circuits can be explored on foot or with a free shuttle service that will cover a pre-established route, with pick-up and drop-off locations near the participating galleries.

Itaim: Andrea Rehder Arte Contemporânea, Carbono Galeria, Choque Cultural, Fólio Livraria, Galeria Luciana Brito, Galeria Lume, Galeria Marilia Razuk, Galeria Mario Cohen and Galeria Nara Roesler

The participating galleries will feature works by 130 artists, with more than 40 free events taking place over the weekend, including:
A conversation with Vik Muniz to coincide with his new exhibition, Handmade, an updated take on nearly 30 years of experimentation with the simultaneous perception of images and objects (Galeria Nara Roesler, Friday 2 September).
A guided tour of Raid 8, featuring work by guest artists Takashi Kuribayashi, Raúl Díaz Reyes, Iñaki Domingo and James Master, as well as the launch of the exhibition catalogue (Galeria Raquel Arnaud, Saturday 3 September).
A cocktail reception to coincide with the group exhibition Split, featuring light sculptures by Alê Jordan and work by muralist Daniel Melim (Choque Cultural, Sunday 4 September).
