On Saturday 24 October, the new multi-media tour of the Van Gogh Museum
was granted a Dutch Design Award 2015 in Eindhoven. This multi-media tour was the winner in the Service & Systems category.
By the end of last year, the Van Gogh Museum launched the new presentation of its permanent collection. The presentation focuses on the development of Vincent van Gogh as an artist. At the same time, the museum introduced the new multi-media tour, providing a stimulating insight into Vincents life and work in perfect harmony with the new presentation.
While developing the tour, Design agency Fabrique closely collaborated with scriptwriter Sandy Goldberg and the consultancy agencies Frankly, Green + Webb and Imagineear. Fabrique went one step further than simply creating a new product by taking into account the entire chain of service design. And thus the tour introduces visitors to all aspects, from the website to the queues at the entrance.
The three different user-friendly tours all focus on Vincent van Goghs life in a dynamic and emotional manner. Integrating text, images, games and audio, each tour helps visitors explore Vincent van Goghs life, his paintings, letters, as well as the myths. Whether playful or moving, the tour is always inspiring.
Since 2003, the Dutch Design Awards have presented awards for excellence with respect to Dutch design each year. The presentation of the awards is part of the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. Participation in the Dutch Design Awards is open to Dutch designers and design agencies located in the Netherlands or abroad. Fabrique was earlier granted a Dutch Design Award for the websites of the Rijksmuseum and the Lowlands pop festival.
