An online art gallery focusing on 20th century American illustration originals – one-of-a-kind outside the US. “Classic American Illustration Art” evokes a triumphant America, alluringly innocent and nostalgic. Oils and gouaches used to illustrate magazine or book covers, stories or ads in the 1920s to 1950s make up the heart of the collection.

Jacques Protat
Wrote a PhD thesis on New York Cabaret, and teaches at the Université de Bourgogne. Six years spent in Montreal triggered the launch of three ambitious enterprises: an online art gallery, a CD of his jazz songs, and the development of a course of English through song for primary school kids. He moved back to Dijon in 2011 and has been developing all three projects since with renewed enthusiasm.

James Porter
Jacques Protat’s Anglophone alter ego writes and performs jazz songs. He performs regularly these days, tunes from The James Porter Songbook as well as dozens of new songs with a jazz trio, Friday nights at Dijon’s Acropole.
