Tiancheng International Autumn Auctions 2013 to be held on 25 November and 8 December
Ai Xuan (b. 1947) Distant Cloud. Ink and colour on paper, 2013, 90 x 97 cm. Est: HK$ 200,000 – 300,000 / US$ 25,800 – 38,700.
HONG KONG.- Tiancheng International Autumn Auctions will be held on 25 Nov and 8 Dec at its office headquarter at 30/F Bank of China Tower, Central, Hong Kong. The auction series will encompass jewellery and jadeite, modern and contemporary art, as well as fine Chinese paintings. Auction items will be exhibited from Oct to Dec.

Tiancheng International’s Chairman Ms. Zheng Yan remarks, “As a robust and innovative auctioneer, Tiancheng International strives to present a unique and enjoyable auction experience to the collector. This autumn, we are placing new elements into our auction of Jewellery and Jadeite, Modern and Contemporary Art, as well as Fine Chinese Paintings, and we are hopeful that our new line-ups will hold our dear collection aficionados in much anticipation.

Confident in the solid value of top jadeite in Asian market, we continue to present the most exquisite jadeite items in our Jewellery and Jadeite auction, with the top shining lot being a Natural Jadeite “Fortune Melon” Diamond Pendant. Translucent despite its thickness, the “Fortune Melon” radiates a mesmerising green hue within a most delicate and succulent texture – the embodiment of supreme jadeite excellence. Other than that we are also featuring a spectrum of artistic jewellery that fits for not only pure appreciation but accessories purpose too. Continuing the stunning result of spring auction topped by a pair of impressive jadeite bangles selling for HK$53.7 million, the Jadeite bangle will be another focus of our autumn auction again, with more than 10 lots spanning from no reserve to the most preeminent quality, to cater to the varied tastes of our collectors. It is particularly important to note that this auction will also offer more than 40 “no-reserve lots” of high jewellery, and the value of each item is as high as it is rare in the auction market.

As for the Modern and Contemporary Art section, we are offering the works by masters including Ai Xuan, Chu Teh-chun, Feng Zikai, Li Jin, Liu Xinghe, Taiwanese old master Hong Rui-Lin and so on. With “Calligraphic Art” as our sub-theme, we converge on showcasing the “linear beauty” and “ink gracefulness” demonstrated by the Chinese contemporary artist. Likewise, our Fine Chinese Paintings will continue its inaugural success to present a spread of artistic treasures by Zhao Shao’ang, Tang Yun, Cheng Shifa, Huang Binhong, and many more.”

25 Nov 4pm Modern and Contemporary Art
Maintaining its emphasis on the Oriental aesthetic, and on the integration of Chinese traditional culture into the modern and contemporary context, Tiancheng International’s Modern and Contemporary Art Department continues to explore the theme of “the Oriental Demographics Under Global Visibility”. Within a refined scope, the current auction converges on showcasing the “linear beauty” and “ink gracefulness” demonstrated by the Chinese contemporary artist, in the hope of subtly, yet concretely, revealing the innovation and multiple forms of Chinese calligraphy in contemporary times.

8 Dec 3pm Jewellery and Jadeite
This auction showcases a spread of jewellery refinements, including exquisite jadeite, stunning rubies, sapphires and emeralds, as well as magnificent diamonds. Excellent jadeite and artistic jewellery designs are the two shining spots of the sale, with the latter being not only an attempt of Tiancheng International, but evidently also an upcoming collection trend in general. A Lavender Jadeite Beads with Jadeite Cabochon and Coloured Sapphire “Tulip” Necklace fully represents the merging of art and jewellery. Designed by Alessio Boschi, the chain can be broken down into a bracelet and a necklace, depending on the occasion of wearing; whereas the purple tulip can be taken down and worn as a brooch. Considering the collector’s increasing enthusiasm about coloured gemstones, Tiancheng International is going to include this section as well, presenting a 20.09-carat Natural Unheated Cushion-shaped Ruby and Diamond Ring, a 5.42-carat Natural Unheated Oval-shaped Kashmir Colour-changing Sapphire and Diamond Ring, as well as a 6.42-carat Natural Columbian Emerald and Diamond Ring with no clarity enhancement. Altogether with more than 40 “no reserve” lots of high jewellery items, the current auction is set to be an unmissable opportunity for jewellery collectors.
