Sotheby's announces sale of magnificent wines from The Warren A. Stephens Collection, Part II
The auction will be the second sale from the cellar of the renowned Arkansas businessman, philanthropist, and wine connoisseur.
NEW YORK, NY.- On 20 September 2013 Sotheby’s New York will present a single owner sale of Magnificent Wines from the Warren A. Stephens Collection, Part II. The auction will be the second sale from the cellar of the renowned Arkansas businessman, philanthropist, and wine connoisseur. The wines on offer are drawn from the most celebrated producers in Bordeaux and Burgundy with a particular emphasis on large formats with 476-liter bottles in the sale as well as a wide selection of magnums, double-magnums and jeroboams. Overall, the sale is estimated to fetch in excess of $1 million and will be followed by the various owner Finest and Rarest Wines auction the following day.

Other single-owner wine sales already announced at Sotheby’s this autumn include – Only DRC -A Private Cellar Of Domaine De La Romanée-Conti on the 7th September in Hong Kong and Domaine Clarence Dillon: Wines Direct from the Cellars of Château Haut-Brion - Château Quintus - Château La Mission Haut- Brion on 4th October also in Hong Kong.

A wide selection from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti including a full case of 1999 Romanée-Conti (est. $125/175,000) and 4 vintages of La Tâche including a case of 1996 (est. $20/27,500).

Wines from Domaine Leroy include 6 bottles of 1962 Grands Echézeaux (est. $4/6,000), 3 bottles of 1996 Chambertin (est. $3,500/5,000), 12 bottles of 1996 Romanée St. Vivant (est. $9/12,000) and 3 bottles 1996 Musigny (est. $10/15,000).

While Henri Jayer is represented by 10 bottles of 1998 Vosne Romanée Cros Parantoux (est. $35/45,000).
