Ellen Schneiderman Exhibition at The Space Gallery
Ellen Schneiderman, Guted and Glued.
LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS.- This June, Ellen Schneiderman will be exhibiting her paintings in a solo exhibition at The Space Gallery. The show, splat erred construct ions, will feature her new mixed media works that explore systematic and intuitive methods of creating patterns and marks. Experimenting with the properties of acrylic mediums, she reconstructs her images by juxtaposing layers of peeled paint over vibrant fields of color and densely rendered patterns.

These images emerge as playful graphic compositions that function as a physical record of the painting's history, a documentation of process, and inspiration for new works of art.

Ellen Schneiderman was born and raised in LA and attended Brown University, where she studied Visual Art and Community Health. She lives in Long Island City and is an Artist-in-Residence at the Space.

The Space is a not-for-profit in Queens Plaza dedicated to maintaining the artistic heritage of Long Island City, and providing a foundation for the future of a thriving community of artists and the arts. The Space will continue to present monthly exhibitions featuring its artists in residence.
