Danish Furniture Designer Nanna Ditzel, 81, Dies
Nanna Ditzel.


COPENHAGEN, DENMARK.- Danish furniture designer Nanna Ditzel, 81, died. She was born in Copenhagen in 1923. She first apprenticed as a cabinetmaker and later graduated at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1946. In 1946 she married architect Jorgen Ditzel and together they opened a design studio. They won many design competitions. Jorgen Ditzel died in 1961 and Nanna married German businessman Kurt Heide in 1968. They went to live to London together and then in 1985 he died. She then moved back to Copenhagen and opened a design studio. She was active until the first months of this year.
