BASEL.- Basel once again proved to be an international art hotspot with an high-quality audience.

The second edition of paper positions basel ended yesterday with a successful balance: the Berlin art fair format, which focuses on the medium of paper, presented this year 29 international galleries from 9 countries. Visitors were able to discover and rediscover the extraordinary variety of the "works on paper" on two floors of the Ackermannshof. The paper positions once again proved that Basel is ahead of the international competition in contemporary art.

Good sales and an interested audience that has benefited from the sophisticated and dense program of the Basel Art Week throughout the city, have led the art fair and gallery owners to draw a positive conclusion.

The high level of the exhibitors was rewarded by a well funded audience interested in art. Many new contacts were made and numerous sales to private collections and international institutions were already recorded during the VIP preview.

The concept and the specialized orientation of paper positions were confirmed once again: art enthusiasts and established collectors have been offered an overview of a diverse selection of artworks. At the same time, the fair reflected the creativity and high level of Basel as an internationally important art destination.

Outlook: POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair
From 12 - 15 September 2019 POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair as part of the Berlin Art Week will present selected international galleries with their most significant artistic positions of contemporary and modern art.

For its sixth edition POSITIONS Berlin is moving again into the Hangar 4 at the Berlin-Tempelhof Airport and will offer its visitors an attractive supporting programme with talks, awards, special exhibitions and other events.

POSITIONS Berlin is partner of Berlin Art Week, which offers selected exhibition openings held by Berlin’s major museums and institutions, such as KW Institute of Contemporary Art, Berlinische Galerie, Gropius Bau, Hamburger Bahnhof and Berlin´s numerous private museums.
