MILWAUKEE, WIS.- The Milwaukee Art Museum has welcomed David Russick as its new exhibition designer.
Russick has a long history in the art world, most recently he was Chief Designer at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where he was a key participant in the museums re-installation and special exhibition designs. He started his career at the Phyllis Kind Gallery in Chicago before moving to Indianapolis where he was director/curator at the Herron Gallery, Herron School of Art and Design, Indiana University. He received his MFA from Northern Illinois University.
We are thrilled to add David to our staff, said Brady Roberts, chief curator for the Milwaukee Art Museum. His knowledge, experience, and skills will benefit not only the Museum, its members and visitors, but our community as a whole.
New to the Milwaukee area, Russick and his wife are already enjoying the lake, the diverse neighborhoods within the city, outdoor activities like biking and kayaking, and the restaurants.
I am a naturally curious person, and a visual learner. This has always drawn me to art and architecture. I like anything that stops you in your tracks, and there is lots of that in this city, and in the museums collection, said Russick. My family and I have always loved Milwaukee. Im looking forward to designing so that visitors see and experience things anew at the Museum, even things they have seen before. Great exhibition design can do that.
