NEW YORK, NY.- Yvon Lambert New York presents an exhibition of work by South Korean artist Koo Jeong-A entitled Koo Jeong A ~ Z. This show will run concurrently with an exhibition of new work by Markus Schinwald. Both exhibitions will be on view until February 20, 2010.
Koo Jeong-a has had six exhibitions at Yvon Lambert Paris, and this exhibition marks her second solo show at Yvon Lambert New York. Koo Jeong-A incorporates diverse materials, images, and landscapes that are often considered non-artistic or have been overlooked or forgotten by society. Her work, which always consists of site-specific elements, is ephemeral by nature. For each installation, she seeks to assemble various objects, videos, and drawings that she carefully reveals, although sometimes hidden from the spectators view. The artist stages the infinitely small, even the invisible, therefore revealing both the beauty and the poetic qualities of banal objects and moments.
Koo Jeong-A was born in 1960 in Seoul, South Korea. She attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and currently lives and works between London and Berlin.
