NEW YORK, NY.- Bonhams will be presenting a selection of prints by French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in its Fine Prints auction, April 30 in San Francisco, and simulcast in Los Angeles. Leading the lineup is Le Jockey, one of Toulouse-Lautrec's latter works, from 1899, estimated at $50,000-70,000. The lithograph, printed in black, brown and pale red on thin wove paper, features two jockeys racing fiercely forward on their horses.

Toulouse-Lautrec lithographs on offer in the sale will also include Ambassadeurs, Aristide Bruant, 1892, and La passagère du 54 - Promenade en yacht, 1896, each estimated at $20,000-30,000; as well as Irish and American Bar, Rue Royale-The Chap Book, 1895, estimated at $18,000-25,000 and La Loge au Mascaron Doré, from The Théâtre Program, 1893, estimated at $15,000-25,000.

An offering in the auction that is sure to appeal to a collector’s sweet side will be Candy Apples, 1987, by Wayne Thiebaud, woodcut in colors on Tosa Koza paper, estimated at $30,000-50,000. One look at the nine red apples lined up in this work is sure to start a craving.

With dessert of the auction covered by Thiebaud, Andy Warhol’s Campbells Soup I series from 1968 provides main course offerings. In screenprint in colors on wove paper will be Tomato, estimated at $15,000-25,000; and Green Pea, Onion Soup, and “Black Bean, separately offered at $10,000-12,000 each.

Also standing out in the sale will be an offset lithograph in colors on wove paper of Crying Girl, 1963, by Roy Lichtenstein, estimated at $20,000-30,000; a lithograph on simili Japon paper of Bond of Union, 1956, by Maurits Cornelis Escher, estimated at $18,000-25,000; and Studies of the Head of Saskia and others, 1636, by Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn, estimated at $10,000-15,000.
