NEW YORK, NY.- Arte Primitivo Gallery who specializes in Tribal and Pre-Columbian Art, Classical, Egyptian and Asian Antiquities, in New York City, NY, is proud to announce its latest online absentee auction - Fine Tribal Art, Pre-Columbian, Classical & Asian Antiquities– featuring more than 500 lots of authentic examples from around the world.

Arte Primitivo’s absentee bidding format allows bidders to register and then place bids at their own pace right up until each auction’s unique closing time. Every lot is sold with a guarantee of authenticity, has been legally acquired and is legal to sell. All auction lots can be viewed online or by visiting the gallery now through the sale dates.

Arte Primitivo’s 3-session auction begins closing February 25th. The first 2 days will feature high quality items and are published in the full color catalog, available by subscription or at the gallery. Session 3 will be online only and will be comprised of more modestly valued items.

Among the featured items are a splendid selection of Pre-Columbian art from the Carolyn and Walter Foxworth collection, acquired 1960s, and the Leslie Margulis collection. Of particular interest are lot #10 a magnificent Chupicuaro Polychrome Standing Figure and lot #123 an Important Ecuadorian Repousse Decorated Gold Crown, Ca. 200-800 A.D. There are also several pre-Columbian items from an old private Danish collection, western Mexican ceramics and a very nice selection of Peruvian ceramics.

Several Mezcala figures from the collection of Frances Pratt, NYC., 1960’s are offered as well as several Veracruz items including some very rare figural pieces with removable helmets.

The tribal arts are well represented in this sale with an outstanding African, Gabon black Punu mask Ex. Simone de Monbrison, Paris. There is a large selection of tribal and oceanic art pieces including Maori Nephrite Tiki Pendants, Sepik River masks, and much more. Two Japanese Menpos are offered as part of the Joseph G. Gerena collection of masks, that were previously published and exhibited by Gerena.
