The Architects Gallery opens "Outlands": An exhibition by six international emerging artists
Christopher Stone, Eve of destruction. Acrylic on canvas, 116 x 89 cm.
LONDON.- From the 29th November onwards The Architects Gallery Teddington presents "Outlands" an exhibition which holds all the promises of an exciting, unique art event.

Six international emerging artists are presenting a body of work ranging from oil on canvas, screen prints, etchings, photography, and oil on household products. Very few galleries are brave enough to sponsor such a varied field of artistic endeavours, however The Architects gallery is rapidly gaining well deserved fame for events of this kind.

Sam Kamleh, owner of the gallery explains that the gallery plans to hold three or four shows every year, each one showing work by different artists from around the globe, each with their own unique style and medium.

Five large scale works by Christopher Stone will also be on display at the gallery. Christopher's sculptures are in public, and private collections across the globe, but over the last few years the artist has made a return to painting.

Social commentary / political art has become his signature work, some canvases are subliminal, some are glaringly obvious, all are executed with a huge passion for his art and the subject.

All five works were prepared especially, and exclusively for the architects gallery. A percentage of the proceeds from sales of his work at this show will be given to "Keep a child alive" which was Co founded by superstar "Alicia Keys", and supported by many others including "Adele". Christopher explained that "A while ago I set up a campaign to help raise some money for this cause, not much has happened so far, lots of nice words, but little action, I am sure that this show will prove to be the one that kicks it all off, Sam was the only gallery owner that would help when I was seeking representation for work of this kind, she was all for it, still is, now her optimism is beginning to pay off, as my work continues to create enthusiasm in the art collectors world.

When we first began talking about a show, and I said that I was prepared to ship some paintings over for her to show, Sam offered to pay the return shipping should nothing sell, I have never heard this before, not in thirty years, any how she never had to pay, now here we are with yet another exhibition about to begin, Sam hears the music"

Christopher Stone quotes Friedrich Nietzsche: "And those that were dancing were thought insane by those who could not hear the music"

• Vyvyan Davies (oil on canvass landscapes)
• Brian Denington (ditto)
• Robin Rutherford (screen prints of cyclists, boats)
• Mitsushige Nishiwaki (etchings)
• Alex Prior (photographs of installations such as ferris wheels)
• Orsi Cowell-Lehoczky (oil on canvass household objects)

Christopher Stone is represented in the UK exclusively by The Architects gallery.
