Art Nocturne Knocke 2011: Art and Antique Lovers Know Where to Go this Summer
Karel Appel, Sunset over NY. KUNSTHANDEL RIDDERPLAAT
KNOCKE-HEIST.- It would be great to be at the Belgian Coast once more. From 6 till 15 August, you will be spoilt at the CC Scharpoord and Hotel La Réserve at Knokke-Heist with the 36th edition of Art Nocturne Knocke and the 18th Sculpture Link Knokke.

The name ART NOCTURNE KNOCKE refers to the opening times of the Art and Antique Fair, which opens daily from 4pm till 9pm. That formula has clearly proven its success over recent years, and meets the wish of many art and antique lovers. This way, they can fully enjoy the pleasures of the Coast, while sampling what the fair has on offer in the evenings in a relaxed atmosphere.

Quality and New acquisitions
With over twelve thousand acquisitive art lovers over recent years, Art Nocturne Knocke has grown into the most important international summer art and antique fair in Europe. The fair also takes place in an economically successful region with a wealthy audience, which is hugely appreciated by the dealers. Also the never-ending attention given to the latest developments on the international art and antique market by the dealers, as well as by the organisational team Art Promotion Tuteleers & Tuteleers adds to the success of Art Nocturne Knocke. Add the numerous returning colleagues who, together with the newly selected, every year assure a collection of original objects that never cease to please the art and antique lovers.

Rare surprises
The museum-like quality of the fair is first of all the result of the professional efforts of the art and antique dealers. Thanks to the longstanding experience and effort, they select the most precious objects from their collections for Art Nocturne Knocke. Not surprisingly, the offering includes many objects of museum-like quality. In order to stress that undeniable quality and as requested by the art and antique fair, upon request, every participant will give the buyer a certificate that proves that the objects are genuine. This is done according to the common standards and including possible changes that were made by a team of independent and certified experts. Every year, the fair is also visited by numerous museum curators.

Trade fair
Regardless of the strict selection criteria, Art Nocturne Knocke is still first and foremost a trade fair that targets all levels of the art-loving society. Seasoned collectors and art experts, as well as passionate art lovers can find something for their taste at the fair. Just as during previous editions, there will be a wide variety of various objects at the 36th edition of Art Nocturne Knocke. That is why the fair is an event that can be visited individually, as well as with friends or acquaintances. From this year on, there are over 50 stands at two locations: CC Scharpoord and at Hotel La Réserve: antiques, modern and contemporary art, jewellery design and decoration.

From the Middle Ages to contemporary art
Art Nocturne Knocke introduces furniture from the Netherlands, England, France, Italy and Flanders, and this from the haute époque up to the art nouveau and art deco era, whilst modern and contemporary design also gets its place. There are statues form the Middle Ages up to now, while the jewel, silver and glass collections on offer are simply dazzling. With regards to paintings, the art lover at the fair is presented with an overview covering centuries, starting with the Old Masters and ending with the current masters.

Lovers and collectors of more exotic objects can also find their fancy. Old drawings remain much wanted, which is also the case for Pre-Columbian Art. In brief, objects that you as a motivated visitor will have interest in, you will certainly find them at the fair.

Future vision
For years, Art Nocturne Knocke has been surrounded by the atmosphere of an event. The fair has grown into a complete event that does not just meet the current trends, but rather helps to determine the new trends. Visiting Art Nocturne Knocke as a viewer or as a buyer is opting for an image of innovation and excellence.

Together with the exhibitors and the organisers, Art Nocturne Knocke wants to introduce a refreshing change to the Belgian art and antique market. That is why the aim is a perfect symbiosis between antique and contemporary art, clearly taking into account the latest trends in these fields.

Notable for the 36th edition of Art Nocturne Knocke is also the leading level of gallery owners of contemporary and modern art. This year, no less than seven countries are represented.

18th Sculpture Link Knokke
For the 18th time already, the art and antiques fair is supported by the Sculpture Link sculpture walk, this year one man show with monumental sculptures from Ronald A. Westerhuis which stretches on the Seadike from Het Zoute via Hotel La Réserve to CC Scharpoord, from 30 June to 15 August.
