NEW YORK, NY.- On Thursday, January 27th,
East Side House Settlement (ESH) will host the annual Young Collectors Night at the
Winter Antiques Show at the Park Avenue Armory. This high-energy night attracts over 600 new collectors, young philanthropists, art and antique enthusiasts, and interior designers. Sponsored by New York magazine and
Elie Tahari, the dazzling evening offers guests a private viewing of one of the worlds most prestigious antiques shows, renowned for its sensational showcase of American, English, European, and Asian fine and decorative arts dating from antiquity through the 1960s. Proceeds from the event will benefit East Side House Settlement, a leading social services agency that serves young people and families in the South Bronx.
The evening is co-chaired by Emily Israel and Courtney Booth. The Vice Chairs are Valerie and Brad Aston, Stephanie and Fred Clark, Kipton Cronkite, Cristin DeVeer, Elizabeth Meigher, Billy Nacey, Anika Yael Natori, Allyson and Chris Pachios, Tatiana G. P. Perkin, Marie Rentschler, Caroline Rowley, and Alexandra Buckley Voris.
New to Young Collectors Night is the recently formed Interior Design Committee, led by Chairwoman Wendy Goodman, Design Editor of New York magazine. This prestigious group of 45 designers includes some of the countrys most illustrious interior designers, including Nate Berkus, Jonathan Adler, Celerie Kemble, Eric Cohler, Jamie Drake, Alex Papachristidis, Miles Redd, Todd Romano, and many more.
We are thrilled to have so many prominent interior designers join us for this important night. These influential taste-makers are constantly re-writing the rules of design, incorporating antiques into modern and contemporary settings, blending old and new, in a stylish and sophisticated way, said Wendy Goodman, Design Editor, New York magazine. Its exciting to see the design community come together to support the important work of East Side House Settlement, she added.
The Young Collectors Night will include cocktails and hors doeuvres, music by DJ David Chang, and an opportunity for guests to meet the Design Committee. Proceeds will support East Side House Settlements highly successful college preparation programs, which are crucial in promoting education and employment for the residents of the South Bronx. East Side Houses three college access programs have provided financial aid counseling or financial assistance to the 354 students who were accepted to college over the past three years .
Young Collectors Night always brings a special energy to the antiques show but we are particularly excited about this year, said John Sanchez, Executive Director, East Side House Settlement. The proceeds raised from the evening are essential for us to continue our efforts in creating opportunities for the young people of the South Bronx, he added.
