EDINBURGH. As part of the Edinburgh Art Festival, the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture presents ‘lokal_30: We Would Like You To Know That We Are Not Them’ from 6th August – 13th September 2009 in the RSA Finlay Room. The exhibition will showcase a number of films by Polish artists from the Warsaw based artist collective and gallery lokal_30. A range of talks and events will accompany the exhibition.

Following a curators trip to Poland organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute which is responsible for the promotion of Polish culture abroad and the Edinburgh Art Festival, the Royal Scottish Academy have extended an invitation to Warsaw-based artist collective and gallery lokal_30 to exhibit in Edinburgh as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival 2009. The exhibition of films will include work by Anna Baumgart, Zuzanna Janin, Tomasz Kozak, Norman Leto, Elodie Pong, Jozef Robakowski and Jasmina Wojcik.

Lokal_30 will host an Artist Talk by Tomasz Kozak at 12 noon on 6th August, where lokal_30 will also talk about their activities and the films on display. A range of other events including talks and informal evenings will highlight the work of lokal_30 and develop the audience of Polish contemporary art in Scotland.

This exhibition will be part of the Edinburgh Art Festival and the POLSKA! YEAR.

lokal_30 first opened in May 2003 when it show the part of art exhibition in cooperation with Foksal Gallery and remains a place for artists to meet and work, a site for artistic projects, the backdrop for photographers, the set of art movies, a creative workshop, an exhibition space, and a meeting-place for the art world. lokal_30 have hosted shows, panel-meetings and performances including presentations in institutions at home and abroad (a.i. viennAfair: winner of the Prize of the Best Gallery Presentation, Art
