Take Your Best Shot! KIA Kirk Newman Art School Offers Unique Photography Opportunity
KALAMAZOO, MI.-Calling all photographers and artists! Have you ever tried to photograph a spectacular piece of art, perhaps your own, only to be disappointed that your shot didn’t reflect what you were trying to capture? Now is your chance to learn how to photograph art and get the results you are looking for!

Register today for Photographing Art with Digital Cameras (Room 843) with photography instructor Jim Riegal.

Description: Artists need good digital files of their art to enter art fairs, to show galleries, and to post on web pages. This class will cover techniques and equipment for photographing 2-D and 3-D art and post processing them in the computer using Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Whether you are an artist who wishes to learn how to photograph your own art; or a photographer interested in how to reveal the beauty of art as seen by the naked eye through the field of your lens, this class is for you!

If you have any questions you may email the instructor, Jim Riegal at

This course is five weeks long. Classes start Sunday, June 28th.

Fees: Sustaining Members: $93; Members: $97; Community: $105.

The classes will be held in the Kirk Newman Art School multi-purpose classroom and computer lab. Space is limited to 12 students.

Prerequisite: A good working knowledge of the computer and digital camera with adjustable settings. Some experience with graphic design is highly recommended.
