ArtDaily Opens its Archives and Exhibits Past Front Pages at the Disposal of Art Lovers
Section Last Month
For us at ArtDaily it is a great pleasure to place in front of our reader’s eyes, the day to day and month after month, of what we have been publishing now that we are about to celebrate the 13th anniversary of having started this reality named

For practical purposes, our web site, was registered on July 3, 1996, according to Alexa’s registry, after several months of preparation prior to the launch, on September 21, 1996, The First Art Newspaper on the Net was born for those lovers and scholars of art.

Our launch was well received in that community of net surfers. We received a lot of congratulation letters from around the world. It sounded incredible. And just after a month had passed after the launch, on Octiber 21, 1996, Yahoo! – the internet monster- named us Pick of the Week.

Our server was originaly in Dallas and they called us to find out what had happened that day since the number of visits had gone through the sky, with a total of 64,000.

The years passed and we received a total of 49 prizes, acknowledgements or awards.

In 1996 there were 36 million internet users. Today, there are over 6,700 million.

Picking back up on the theme of internet archives, we have proposed ourselves to show, in the most graphic manner, our archives.

Today we start by publishing this past month of April 2009 and little by little we will upload the previous months.

Our goal is to place the most amount of editions of ArtDaily up so that those who kindly visit us can see them as soon as possible. We have been at this task for almost 13 years, without seeking a profit.

At the same time you have at your disposition the ArtDaily search, to get to know more about an artist or museum. And the same, this section is being updated and reorganized.

Thank You!
