City Without Walls Presents Select Shorts
Still from Graffiti (2005, by Andre Lopes, Sean Teixeira, Philip Oliveria, Walter Potina, Newark East Side High School).

NEWARK, N.J.- City Without Walls New Media Project Room presents Select Shorts from Newark Public Schools, six videos produced under the auspices of a magnet school program designed by the Office of Schools to Careers to recruit middle school students to high school video and broadcast studies. Three high schools, including East Side High, Arts High, and Malcolm X Shabazz High, collaborated to bring the video program to the success it enjoys today. The schools organized an annual film festival highlighting the year's top student video projects and student progress in subject matter, technical and aesthetic abilities. The program is sponsored by federal grants and other supporters, including WBGO Jazz 88, New Jersey Network (NJN), Essex County College, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), and a prestigious advisory board. City Without Walls is pleased to present some of the program's best work.
