The International Photography Awards Announces Winners
Lucie Award

NEW YORK.- The International Photography Awards (IPA) announced the winners of The 2nd Annual Lucie Awards ( — the only ceremony honoring the greatest achievements in photography. The event took place at the American Airlines Theater, located on 42nd Street in New York City.

Deborah Harry attended to present a Special Tribute to Francesco Scavullo, and Barbra Streisand sent words of appreciation read by host Douglas Kirkland. The ceremony also featured Special Tribute video presentations for Helmut Newton and Scavullo by Cindy Crawford, Jodie Foster, sculptor Robert Graham and Andie MacDowell. Gene Trindl, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Eddie Adams and Richard Avedon were also remembered.
The Lucie Awards recognizes the achievements of the world’s finest photographers with categories including fashion, entertainment, advertising, portraiture, fine art, photojournalism, documentary and lifetime achievement.

The IPA awards Lucies to those in the creative community who are an integral part of crafting an image.

The Winners of the Lucie Awards’ Support Categories are: Creative Director of the Year - Kai Zastrow, TBWA Chiat Day San Francisco; Art Buyer/ Producer of the Year - Justine Enoch, TBWA Chiat Day San Francisco; Art Director of the Year - Ashley Reese, McCann Erickson; Photo Curator of the Year - Sandra S. Phillips, San Francisco MOMA; Photo Gallery of the Year - Howard Greenberg Gallery (New York); Model of the Year - Caroline Winberg, Women Management; Hair Stylist of the Year - Guido Palau, Art and Commerce; Wardrobe Stylist of the Year - Bill Mullen, Art and Commerce; Make-Up Artist of the Year - Paul Starr, MAO; Photo Editor of the Year - Michele Stephenson, Time Magazine; Photography Magazine of the Year – PDN; Photography Book Publisher of the Year - Taschen, GOAT, A Tribute to Muhammad Ali; International Photographer of the Year - Timothy White (Sponsrd by: AtEdge); and New Discovery of the Year - Marrigje De Maar.
